Brief information about Taoyuan City
Taoyuan is the native home to the Pingpu tribe of aborigines, also one of Taiwan's important industrial regions. Is bordered by New Taipei City to the northeast, Yilan County on the southeast, Hsinchu County to the southwest and facing north to the straits of Taiwan.
Since the Taipei Taoyuan International Airport is located here, it makes Taoyuan become another nice stop for tourists to stop by for the fabulous attractions such as Chi hu Mausoleum, Little Wulai Scenic Area, Shimen Reservoir and etc., before heading to the airport for home.

Shimen Reservoir 石門水庫
Before entering to Xiao (little) Wulai you will pass by this water and power supplies and flood control dam, other than the original purpose of the reservoir it is now a wonderful tourist attraction that give you a stunning and beautiful natural sceneries all year round. Is also a great place for flower lovers to admire the magnificent beauty of flowers.
Another interesting thing is that there are many restaurants around this area, that serve fresh reservoir fish cuisine, during weekend there are many people from Taipei and nearby Taoyuan are here to enjoyed their fresh fish cuisine.
The Luofu Bridge and Fuxing Bridge 羅浮橋及復興橋
Both the Luofu and Fuxing bridges are situated in Luofu Village of Taoyuan City, is the main link across the Dahan River of the Northern Cross-island No.7 Provincial Highway.
Fuxing Bridge was built in 1966 for pedestrian only, but due to the development of this area it gives the local with problem of getting around, thereafter, the bridge was broadening and make possible for vehicle to pass by.
Come 1994, there was a red colour arch-style steel design bridge next to Fuxing bridge built to take over the duty of Fuxing bridge known as Loufu Bridge, at that time the Loufu bridge was the largest arch-style in south-east Asia.
These two bridges has become the tourists spot now, the view from the bridges give you the unforgettable picture, Fuxing bridge is also the famous bungee jumping venue in the north Taiwan and Fuxing bridge is back to the olden days, is for pedestrian only, with all these scenic view and activities around, you now find many coffee shops and restaurants are around to provide you other than coffee and food but to sit in the coffee shop and admire the surrounding is another way to enjoy life here.

Little (Xiao) Wulai Scenic Area 小烏來風景區
By visiting to this full of natural resources, you are able to view the spectacular waterfall, the wonder of Wind Moving Rock and Transparent Skywalk.
Xiao Wulai waterfall is a waterfall with a height about 50 meters that offers striking sceneries and easy to access, because this area is unpolluted, therefore, you see clear streams and silk like water pouring from hill top, of course this is a good place for bird watching too.
Wind Moving Rock is a gigantic 50-tons rock that sits on the ground and balanced it well, when strong wind blows on to it, it seems like moving without falling, one of the wonder in this area.
The transparent skywalk is designed for tourists to admire the beautiful valley and spectacular waterfall scenery, is transparent constructed with tempered glass whereby let you have the feel of walking in the air just right above Xiaowulai waterfall.

Cihu Memorial Sculpture Park 慈湖 - 兩蔣文化園
'Ci' meaning benevolent, 'hu' meaning lake, therefore, Cihu means the benevolent lake, the lake and nature compound reminded Chiang Kai-shek of his benevolent mother and his home town, that where it gets its name - Cihu. This is where Chiang and his family enjoyed visiting to escape the hot summer months of the city.
The Memorial Statues Park may be being the only in the world dedicated to the sculptures of a single individual, there are over a hundred of Chiang in the park, this made you want to come and witness it don't you?
Other than the statues there are two lakes and the Mausoleum there are all connected by well signed footpaths through the park.
The Mausoleum is guarded 24 hours and there is a guard-changing ceremony every hour, you are able to view the guard-changing ceremony in Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, SunYat-sen Memorial Hall or Martyr Shrine if you miss them here.
